ART IS FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT THE POCKETBOOK
"It used to be important to me to develop the accuracy of my craft when depicting a landscape. Today I go beyond the reality to create a world in its pureness. A world free from the difficulties that this universe has bestowed upon our world during these changing times. A reminder that where we live is beautiful and should be protected and loved."

About Me
Debra Freeman-Highberger is a representational painter, painting instructor, and author. She resides in Marblehead, Massachusetts, a coastal New England town north of Boston with her husband, Jack. From 1981-1983, Freeman-Highberger studied, painted, and traveled across Europe during her three-year independent study stationed in Ulm, Germany. By day Freeman-Highberger made a living as a portrait painter. By weekend, she traveled in between her studies seeking new experiences and mastery of her skill. It was during this time Freeman-Highberger evolved into the renowned artist she is today.
